How do I get a Library Card?
A Cannon Falls library card can be obtained with a valid photo ID. E.g. Driver’s license, Driver’s permit, Passport, MN Identification card, Tribal ID.
If you’ve moved and are new to the area bring a valid photo ID along with proof of your current residence E.g. a utility bill.
Children ages six thru seventeen may obtain a library card with a parent or legal guardian’s signature (presence preferred) and valid legal identification.
What is my pin number?
For online account access, the library assigns the last four digits of the phone number you used on your library card application. If you have questions regarding your pin number, please call the library at 507-263-2804.
How long can I check items out?
All Cannon Falls Library materials may be checked out for 2 weeks, with 2 renewals, unless an item is requested by another patron.
Are there any fees associated with a library card?
The only fees you will be charged are for overdue items, damaged items, lost items, or lost library cards.
Late fees accrue at $.20 per day, per item, with a two day grace period from the due date. Damaged fees vary depending on the severity of the damage, and could be up to the full replacement cost of the item.
Replacement library cards may be obtained for a $3.00 fee.
Does the library provide computers and Wi-Fi access for public use?
The library provides six public computers that can be used with a valid library card. We also offer free public Wi-Fi access.
How much does the library charge for copies?
Copies are available for $.25 per page, per side, for black and white copies. Color copies are $.50 per page, per side.
Fax services are not available, but the library will be happy to scan documents for email use.
Is there a meeting room for public use?
We have a meeting room available that can reasonably accommodate groups for special meetings. There is a $25.00 fee per four hour period.
The Meeting room is not available for:
- Private Parties
- The sale or promotion of business products or services
- Political campaign activities
- Any event for which an admission fee is charged
- Any activity deemed inappropriate by the Library Director and/or Library Board
The room may not be scheduled outside of regular library hours unless approved by the director.
