Soon it will be St. Patrick’s Day and those pesky Leprechauns will be on the loose again, but this year we’re going to outsmart the little guys with the cleverest traps we can find!

The Contest:

  •  Design and build a Leprechaun trap, using ordinary household materials
  •  To enter, send your name, age, and a photo of your trap to: cfl_ill@selco.info by Mar 18
  •  Public voting period will be Mar 18-31
  • 1st Prize of $10 Chamber Dollars for each category: Ages 0 – 12; Ages 13 – 18.

Spring is coming, and with it, warmer weather! We expect that we’ll be able to offer some outdoor, in-person programs, in addition to our virtual programs, weather permitting. Please tell us your preferences about what kind of programming you’d like to see from us as we plan for March-May 2021. Thank you for taking the time to share your opinions with us!


Opening for Appointment Browsing and Computer Use January 11th

Beginning Monday January 11th, the Cannon Falls Library will be open again for appointment only browsing and computer use. All appointments are strictly limited to a maximum of 30 minutes.
Patrons are required to wear face masks at all times while in the library and use hand sanitizer when entering the building.
Browsing appointments will begin at 10:30am and computer appointments will begin at 11am.
Please call 507-263-2804 for an appointment during library hours.
The library will continue to offer curbside service and Mystery Bags. Please call ahead with your library card # so we can get your items ready for you. All returned materials must be placed in the outside drop-box, as we may quarantine them for your safety.

Gingerbread House Parade

Have you or your family made a Gingerbread House this year? The Cannon Falls Library would love to see them! Weather they are homemade of made from a kit, send us a photo at cfl_ill@selco.info and we will share your photo on our Facebook page.

Noon-Year’s Eve Celebration – Dec. 31st

Noon-Years Eve Celebration for Kids
December 31st at 11:30 am
Ages 5-12 (registration required)

Join the Cannon Falls Library for a Kids’ Noon-Year’s party.
We will craft noise makers, read a story, and then do a big count down to noon.
Noon-Year’s party bags will be given to all children who are registered by Monday, Dec. 21st.
The party bags can be picked up at the library from Dec. 22nd to Dec. 31st.
