Collaborative Watercolor Art Project – July 6th thru July 31st

Collaborative Watercolor Art Project
July 6th – July 31st
Ages 13 and up

Get creative and be part of the CF Library Collaborative Watercolor Art project.
The Theme is “Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud” – Maya Angelou
Pick up a hexagonal piece of watercolor paper at the CF Library beginning July 6th and return it by July 31st. Your piece will be part of a permanent piece of art installed in the CF Library in August.

We’re Hiring a Shelver!

We’re looking for a part-time library shelver to work 6-10 hours per week on afternoons and Saturdays.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Shelving library materials and straightening shelves using the Dewey Decimal System, helping to maintain the general good order of the library, assisting patrons in locating items, and checking items in and out. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. This job requires considerable kneeling, bending, and reaching high and low. Strong alphabetizing and numerical skills required.

Cannon Falls Library Story Walk – July 3rd, 12th, 17th, 26th

Enjoy nature, and a good book, with our interactive Story Walk.
Pages of a picture book will be posted around a park or trail in Cannon Falls for you to enjoy.

  • Saturday July 3rd – Minnieska Park (the duck pond).
  • Monday July 12th – East Side Park
  • Saturday July 17th – Minnieska Park (the duck pond).
  • Monday July 26th – East Side Park

Story Walk will be rescheduled if it’s raining.
This project had been funded by the people of Minnesota through the Arts and Cultural Heritage/Library Legacy fund in cooperation with SELCO regional library system.

Eating the Rainbow Program – July 1st thru 31st

Our Eating the Rainbow Project begins July 1st.
Stop by the CF Library and pick-up an Eating the Rainbow worksheet. Save the stickers from the fruits and vegetables you eat, and stick them onto your worksheet. Once the worksheet is filled, bring it back to the CF Library and receive a special Eating the Rainbow button.
(If your fruit or veggie doesn’t have a sticker, or you grow your own, just draw a picture of the food you ate on the worksheet).
This program runs through July 31st.

Voting will begin on our Facebook page with the winning color name announced on July 6th.
