Diali Cissokho, Mini-Concert – March 4th

Rochester Civic Music’s Southeast Minnesota Library Tour presents
Diali Cissokho Mini Concert
Friday March 4th
at 6 pm

Diali Cissokho ecstatically explores the spiritual songs, stories, and rhythms of Senegal’s millennia-old Mandé culture. Cissokho comes from a long line of prominent griots who are entrusted to maintain a West African village’s genealogies and important ceremonial affairs through song. Cissokho effortlessly integrates the traditional soundsof the kora with a modern rush of electric guitar.

SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA LIBRARY TOUR: 5-day Southeast Minnesota library tour providing live musical adult enrichment events for citizens of smaller communities who might not otherwise have access to such opportunities. All library services will be free, un-ticketed events. Consequently, ticket price will be removed as a barrier that may prevent participation due to economics.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support Grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts & cultural heritage fund.
